Eco Schools

Claremont Primary school has achieved the international Eco schools Silver award and is currently working towards the Eco- schools Green flag award.

As a school we believe our future is dependent upon how we care for ourselves, each other and our environment here and now. The Eco- schools team involves pupils in each year across key stage 2, with one representative nominated from each class. This team leads the eco activities within the school. Pupils are taught to understand the economic value of sustainable development and its impact on the environment.

Living Streets

Some of the year 4 and 5 children took part in an environmental audit with the Living Streets charity to see how the local area could be improved to encourage more families to walk to school. The children went out on a very cold day to look at issues such as litter, graffiti and safety and made a note of their findings. If you would like to know more please visit the Living Streets website.
